The Shevchenko Foundation honoured the generosity and foresight of 19 newly inducted Kobzar Fellows at a Kobzar Fellowship Reception held in Winnipeg on March 20th, 2011.
The honoured individuals and newest members of the fellowship are: Irka & Wasyl Balan, Lubomyr Banias, Oksana Bondarchuk, Rt. Rev. Monsignor Mitrat Michael Buyachok, John Fedorkiw, Basil Galarnyk, Maria Larisa & Bohdan Halkewycz, Zorianna & Eugene Hyworon, Sophia Kachor, Tekla & Wasyl Karabin, John Petryshyn, Ben Wasylyshyn, Evelyn Wasylyshyn and anonymous donor.
Guests were entertained with music and dance performed by Melos Folk Ensemble and enjoyed wine and refreshments throughout the afternoon. President of the Foundation, Andrij Hladyshevsky Q.C., presented the honorees with commemorative Fellowship lapel pins. Dr. Roman Yereniuk addressed the audience on the variety of ways to donate to the Foundation. Executive Director, Lesia Szwaluk, and MC Marika Banias guided the program through from start to finish.
The Shevchenko Foundation extends profound thanks to those who made this special, long-lasting gesture and commitment to the Foundation and to the future development of our Ukrainian-Canadian heritage.
To become a Kobzar Fellow, simply consult with your lawyer or notary public about including the Foundation as a beneficiary and advise the Shevchenko Foundation in writing of your intention by using this form. |
