May 15, 2009 for Award announced March 2010
May 15, 2011 for award announced March 2012

Categories

• Literary non-fiction
• Fiction
• Young people's literature
• Poetry
• Plays, screenplays and musicals

Eligibility

• Authors must be either Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
• Submissions may be tendered in either English, French or Ukrainian. Translated work will be eligible for the next round.

Submission Terms

• Works may be submitted by writers, publishers or literary agents.
• Each nomination must be submitted with the author's consent.
• All books must have an ISBN, and be distributed in book form in Canada.
• Titles may be submitted only once.
• There is no limit to the number of titles that may be submitted by a nominator, provided that the work entered meets all other eligibility requirements.

Submission Requirements

• A completed and signed entry form (Download the application form here.)
• Six (6) copies of the publication
• Author's curriculum vitae

All entry material, including book copies will become the property of the Ukrainian Canadian Foundation of Taras Shevchenko.

Submission Process

• Submissions will be judged by a four person jury, whose decision will be final.

Award Announcements

• The composition of the jury will be announced no sooner than four (4) months prior to announcing a winner.
• A short list will be published no sooner than two (2) months prior to announcing a winner.
