NEW MEMBER OF SHEVCHENKO FOUNDATION
INVESTMENT COMMITTEE NAMED
Winnipeg, June 30, 2003 -- The Shevchenko Foundation
today announced the appointment of Mr. Michael Zienchuk, of
Toronto, Ontario, as a member of the Foundation's Investment
Committee.
"We welcome Michael to the Foundation and
look forward to working with him as we continue to strengthen
our support to the Ukrainian-Canadian community," said
Foundation President Andrew Hladyshevsky, Q.C. "Michael
brings to our work a solid reputation in the economic and
financial field, which will be a tremendous asset as we build
the Foundation for future generations."
Currently with TD Securities, the brokerage section of the
Toronto Dominion Bank Financial Group, Michael Zienchuk has
also been Corporate Debt Analyst with ManuLife Financial/Elliott
and Page Asset Management based in Toronto and an Associate
with Ladenburg Thalmann International Ltd. of New York. From
1993-1996, he was the Manager of Soros International Economic
Advisory Group, based in Kyiv, and who served as advisors
to the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, the National
Bank and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. During his tenure
in Ukraine, he traveled as an Advisor with the Ukrainian Delegation
to meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World
Bank and provided support in the areas of fiscal reforms,
privatization of state enterprises and currency reforms.
